Current DVAA Photography Criteria for Exhibits
Altered photos and art created with photoshop and other basic programs are acceptable in general exhibits if clearly identified as such.
Al photos and art are accepted in general exhibits if created by artists using work originally created by others deceased equal to or greater than 100 years or using mostly Al generated images and programs such as Dreamscape. In both cases, there must be some original input or recombination by the photographer or artist; not complete
replication.
Any photos created using copyrighted materials must have written permission from the original artist or their estate and identified as such.
Photos submitted for photography-only exhibits should be original work of the photographer with only minor changes i.e. lighting, exposure etc. Use of altered photo programs and Al are not acceptable.
Photographs of public buildings and spaces are acceptable; private homes, buildings, and land should have permission from owners and, if appropriate, renters as a courtesy even if not required legally. Please read the following:
