Debora Aldo is an architectural designer who has created mosaics for large urban cities, celebrities, schools from preschool to college universities and residences from California to Connecticut, Guatemala to D.C.
Mosaics is an ancient art form that is beloved by many. Everyone looks at them and thinks... “I could do that.” It is not as simple as it looks but it is incredibly fun and soothing. Cutting the piece to for the space exactly right is a great feeling!!
This class is broken down into simple steps. The shape and location of each piece will be explained, and you will be shown how to cut and fit the glass to form the flowers and the rest of the image. You can follow along or take some artistic license. You may or may not finish, but it’s the experience that counts. There is enough material to finish at your leisure, or during class.
The design will come with material to start and finish your mosaic. Since the instructor works in classical Italian method there is no grout. The adhesive called thinset will be used as texture and filler.
